Abstract
`Indian visual arts reflect the country’s rich cultural heritage, historical experiences, religious traditions, and social diversity. This paper examines the impact of globalization on Indian visual arts and contemporary creative painting, tracing their evolution from traditional forms, including Buddhist murals, Jain paintings, Madhubani art, and Mughal miniatures, to modern and contemporary artistic practices. It explores how global cultural exchange, technological developments, digital platforms, and international exhibitions have expanded artistic experimentation, collaboration, and global visibility. The paper also analyses Indian paintings as social texts that communicate moral values, cultural identities, gender roles, and historical narratives, highlighting their pedagogical and research significance. Furthermore, it highlights government initiatives supporting artistic development and identifies challenges such as inadequate funding, limited infrastructure, art forgery, commercialization, and the marginalization of indigenous traditions. The study emphasizes balancing global influences with cultural preservation to ensure the sustainable development of Indian visual arts.
