School children’s reading: A survey of difficulties

Abstract
The present study was
conducted on school students of Maharshi Karve School located at Pune
University. A survey method was used
to collect data through structured questionnaires. Among the population of 280
students, 8th and 9th standard of Maharishi Karve primary school. Sample was
taken 110 with Random Sampling method. This study reveals what difficulties
come in school children’s reading, the role of libraries, parents, and teachers
in their reading and the impact of social media upon school students reading.
The main focus of this paper is to find out the difficulties in reading.
Present study enables what things need to be done to overcome these reading
difficulties.
