Analyzing the impact of human resource management practices on employee performance: A study of public sector organizations in Port of Spain

Abstract
The study investigates
the impact of human resource practices on employee performance of public sector
organizations in Port of Spain. The study adopted the explanatory design to
uncover the underlying causes and relationships between the study’s different
variables. The convenient sampling method was employed to collect data from 220
of employees of public sector organizations in Port of Spain. Findings of the
study showed a significant impact of all the study’s independent variables
(incentives, training and job security) and the dependent variable (employee
performance). The study discussed the implications for HR managers and
directions for future studies.
