E-waste management: A study

Abstract
This study aims to
assess the level of awareness among Dimapur citizens regarding electronic waste
(E-waste) and to identify the primary challenges associated with E-waste
management in the region. As the largest and fastest-growing city in Nagaland,
Dimapur has witnessed a surge in its electronics market and technological
advancements, resulting in heightened consumption of electronic and electrical
equipment. However, with this rapid growth comes the pressing need to effectively
manage the disposal and recycling of electronic waste to mitigate its adverse
environmental and human health impacts. Through surveys and interviews, this
research seeks to shed light on the current state of E-waste awareness and
management practices in Dimapur, providing valuable insights for policymakers,
environmentalists, and stakeholders to develop sustainable solutions for
tackling the E-waste crisis in the region.
