Raja Raja Varma was the uncle of Raja Ravi Varma who noticed the talent of Raja Ravi Varma. Raja Ravi Varma was the first one to understand the European painting by watching the painters who practiced at the family court. Raja Raja Varma initiated Ravi Varma to pursue his interest in arts and supported him. To execute his brilliant talent, Raja Raja Varma arranged a stay at King Ayilyam Thirunal’s palace in Thrivananthapura.
