Impact of agricultural policy of raj from 1849 to 1900 in Punjab

Abstract
After the annexation of Punjab, the Colonial Government made new agricultural policies. The economy of Punjab was predominantly agrarian; consequently, these polices played an important role in shaping the society of the coming century. New classes such as money lenders which were originally trading communities emerged. The available sources indicate that the majority of landallottees, who came to Rohtak and a few other divisionsbelonged to this particular class.
