Childhood is a time to rejoice in innocence, to cherish the little joys life offers. It is the time when children learn to trust, to love, to cuddle and to tug and it is sad to see that this phase is often plagued by numerous social evils like child labour, female infanticide, child marriage, child prostitution, illiteracy or child sexual abuse. Of these there are certain evils that have been talked about, people are aware and a lot is being done. However, Child Sexual Abuse is that big bad monster which is lurking over the children everywhere ready to gulp and ruin the most beautiful period of their life, but is still hushed upon. According to an NGO Arpan ‘most children quietly suffer and don’t talk about sexual abuse, but we need to talk about it so that we can prevent it and cure it’. This research thus found out that most parents are not aware about CSA. Even among those who have heard about it, not all have educated their children about it.
