Indole derivatives are prepared by heating a mixture of phenyl hydrazine and substituted aromatic ketone for one hour in a water bath. Poured the heated mixture to a flask and added boiled acid (previously boiled). It was again heated and stirred for additional 10 minutes and added to ice water. All synthesized compounds were characterized by physicochemical properties, IR, NMR etc. The compounds are screened for different biological activities like antimicrobial, antzi inflammatory, analgesic, anticonvulsant, and antidepressant activities.
